PRINTING CYLINDERS

SFM rebuilds cylinders for sheet feed and web presses. Quality control starts the minuet your cylinder arrives at our facility. Prior to the start of the job, we will inspect all critical areas of the cylinder for size, run-out and damage. Then we will forward to you a copy of the inspection report along with a quote of the necessary repairs. All of the following areas of repair are incorporated into rebuilding a printing cylinder.
 

• Bodies – resurface with steel or chrome.

• Journals – Metal spray, chrome or weld bearing, seal and drive areas. Stub with 100% weld cracked or broken journals.

• Bearers – Manufacture and install new or customer supplied bearers. Grind to size.

• Gaps – Weld and mill to factory widths.

• Bearings – install and preload.

When the job is finished, SFM will guarantee your cylinders meet all factory specifications and will be delivered on time to meet your scheduling requirements.
